'We all make mistakes': Pop stars and famous faces come out to support Conor McGregor after ...

Pop stars and fellow fighters have come out to back Conor McGregor after his New York City bus controversy.

The Dubliner, who could face up to 11 years in jail for his behaviour in New York, was released on bail on Friday.

Canadian singer Justin Bieber, who backed McGregor in his fight against Nate Diaz, told TMZ Sports: "I think Conor will be fine. We all make mistakes."

UFC middleweight fighter Michael Bisping was asked if he had any advice for Conor.

He said: "Conor is not trying to be a gangster. Conor is just trying to look after his boys.

"He made a mistake, that's all it is. He f**cked up, we all f**ck up.

"Everyone still loves him, he'll be back."

UFC fan Travis Barker, of rock band Blink 182, said: "I would've probably done the same thing if someone punked my friend.

"It's unfortunate that other fighters got hurt, he got as violent as he did.

"I love him to death, crazy motherf**ker.

"I can't agree with everything he did, he has to apologise. He should definitely be punished.

"It would be a shame not to see him fight in the UFC in 2018."

US rapper Chris Brown added: "We all get crazy sometimes."

McGregor has set the record for growing the fastest fortune by an Irish sportsman, valued at €85m.

Most of his wealth is from his defeat last August in a €140m boxing match against Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Sponsorship expert Rob Pearson, associate director of Teneo PSG, said brands may be turned off by McGregor's behaviour.

Pearson said: "He recently signed a sponsorship deal with fast food giant Burger King, the latest brand to join his portfolio including Beats, Budweiser and more.

"How this incident plays out will be closely watched by these brands who, by partnering with The Notorious, have aligned their brand values to his."

McGregor earns the majority of his money from in-ring competition rather than sponsorship deals.

McGregor was this week stripped of his UFC lightweight belt, which was due to be on the line in a bout between Nurmagomedov and Max Holloway at UFC 223, before the latter dropped out when doctors stopped him cutting further weight on Friday.

His manager Audie Attar took to Twitter this evening to confirm he will fight again.

Mr Attar said the 29-year-old is a "loyal father and friend".

He said: "So much rumour and misinformation about Conor McGregor.

"The matter is in the hands of law enforcement and I cannot really say more.

"He looks forward to getting back to fighting as soon as possible."
