For the past couple of months, I have been trying and reviewing makeup wipes by several Korean brands, some high-end brands from Ulta and Sephora, and some generic ones from the drugstore brands. I got a good deal on these Clinique Pep Start Quick Cleansing Swipes from my local TJ Max and decided to add them to my skin care routine. Like I mention in all my makeup removal product reviews, I love to wear makeup, but removing it all is not as fun. The makeup removal process is messy, takes a while to get all the gunk off and above of all, most makeup removers leave some residue behind, especially waterproof eye makeup is hard to remove even with high-end makeup removers. But makeup removing wipes do make the whole process a little easier and considerably mess free, even if they don’t leave face squeaky clean. My Experience with Clinique Pep Start Quick Cleansing Swipes:

These wipes by Clinique are part of the “Pep-Start” range and the products in this range are meant to clean and prep skin for makeup application or for the layering of skincare products. These wipes’ dimensions are larger than any of the several wipes that I have tried before. These wipes are perfect for face, neck, chest, upper arms and back makeup removal. These wipes are white in color and one of the sides is mildly abrasive. They are completely soaking wet with the product – not dripping wet, but completely saturated with the cleansing solution. For the price paid, they are reasonably saturated with the product; one wipe is sufficient to clean the face and neck, and so on. I break down stubborn, waterproof makeup with cleansing oil or balm and then wipe off the gunk with these wipes. I then wash the makeup off of these wipes and then use them as wash cloths to clean my face and every other area I apply makeup.

This wipe leaves skin hydrated and moisturized. Apart from the ingredients required to remove makeup, it contains witch hazel that is a natural astringent. It contains gentiana lutea (gentian) root extract which has skin-soothing and antioxidant benefits. Sasa Veitchii Extract which prevents skin roughening that might occur due to abrasive texture of the wipes. Salvia Sclarea (Clary) extract adds a soothing natural fragrance to these wipes. It contains Cladosiphon Okamuranus extract which is a natural skin conditioner. These are some of the essential ingredients in these wipes and that makes these wipes an essential addition to my skincare routine.

Wipes come in a packet with a flap to cover the opening that dispenses the wipes. The packaging is attractive, and the pink color really does stand out. These wipes have mild abrasive texture and are perfect for sensitive skin. They remove the base makeup well and I remove my eye makeup with micellar water or a cleansing balm or oil. I use all my wipes as wash cloth as well. I apply some face wash on the wipe and scrub my face and neck clean.

• The packaging is hygienic, dispenses product easily and is travel friendly.
• It does not irritate eyes or sting them when used in the water line.
• They are dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested and have not clogged my pores or caused acne.

Cons of Clinique Pep Start Quick Cleansing Swipes:

• They might not work well at removing water-proof eye makeup if used without cleansing balm or oil.
• They don’t smell that amazing – they lack a refreshing aroma.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Clinique Pep Start Quick Cleansing Swipes?
These wipes by Clinique are affordable and do justice to their price. I like their texture and the fact that they contain skin-moisturizing properties. They are not drying, don’t cause roughness, do not clog pores and remove base makeup well if used with other cleansing medium. They are extra-large and perfect for face, neck and other areas.
