Both of my Grandmother's made cobbler the exact same way.....
I carry on the tradition!
Perhaps there is no better heartwarming sweet ending than a cobbler!
Today, I used three varieties of fresh berries, but this sweet little recipe
can incorporate almost any fruit!
Perfect for spring and summer......
Mixed Berry Cobbler
2 1/2 cups fresh berries, Blueberries, Raspberries and Blackberries, washed
3 Tablespoons sugar for berries
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1 cup milk
1/3 cup butter, melted
Touch of cinnamon
Stir together just the berries and sugar in a large bowl. Stir gently. Set aside.
Preheat the oven to 350º.
Stir together the sugar, flour, baking powder, salt, and milk. Next, stir in the melted butter and mix it until the ingredients are blended but slightly lumpy. Lightly spray a square baking dish with cooking spray. Pour in the batter and smooth it out. Pour the macerated berries on top and evenly distribute berries over the batter. Sprinkle with a touch of cinnamon.
Bake for 45 minutes or until golden. Allow cobbler to cool for 10-15 minutes and then serve with ice cream or whipping cream.
